Just about every where I go I hear people talking and the weather and the snow and how happy they will be when warm weather gets here.
Last Thursday I ran into Doc. Monin and felt the warmth of summer and car show activity in the air.
Plans are being made for the 2010 Lakefest celebration in Jamestown.
Doc was pleased to tell me about the Car Show that will take place again this year at the Celebration on July 3rd.
Sponsored by the Lake Cumberland Antique Car Club and a lot of hard work by Doc Monin the show will take place at the Jamestown Grade School once again this year.
The school is three blocks from the square in Jamestown. Judging will take place on the square at 1 p.m.
As always this is a show for Antique Cars only. This means as original as can be. No Hot Rods please.
This show is vehicles that have been put back to original and truly restored antique autos. The show will go on Rain or shine.
Registration will have to be done before 12 noon if you want your vehicle to be judged. The cars in this show must be 1975 or older vehicles.
There will be awards given away for The Grand Champion, Chrysler Dealers Choice. Ford Dealer Choice, General Motors Corp. Dealers Choice, Most Unique Auto, Club Participation award, best Mustang award, Best Corvette, Best Foreign car, Best Class trophies and the Hoover award.

There will be special awards given that are sponsored by the Lake Cumberland Antique Auto Club for Classic Chevy 55 – 57, Volkswagen, Camaro, Cuda, Small T Bird, large T Bird, Original totally un-restored, stock high performance, Orphans Choice and Fire Truck.
There will also be an award given for the longest distance traveled to the show.

If you have any questions on the Car Show you can contact Doc. Monin nights or just leave a message at 270-343-4388, or drop a line to;
J.E. Monin, P.O. Box 9, Jamestown Kentucky 42629.
This year’s Lakefest is working out to be a big success. Along with the Antique Car Show there will be a breakfast with the Lions Club in Beck Park, Crafts, displays, 7 mile Marathon Race (8:00 AM), Various Vendors, Children’s Games, Bands, food, and singing..
Don’t forget Saturday Night, along with some great entertainment there will be a fantastic fire works display. Doc tells me this year’s display is one of the biggest and best displays that has taken place at the Celebration.
Mark that date on your calendar, Saturday July 3rd. Plan to spend the day on the square.
Plenty to eat and lots to do and don’t forget to take in the Lake Cumberland Antique Car Show at Jamestown Elementary.
