RCMS Lakers win district title

In May 27 Issue

The Russell County Middle School 8th grade team played in the 16th District tournament at Clinton County on Saturday May 22.

The first game put RCMS against the homestanding Clinton County Bulldogs with the Lakers coming out on top by the score of 11-2.

The winning winning pitcher was Grant Best.

The championship game saw RCMS take on Metcalfe County with a final score 11-1, Russell County on top, with the winning pitcher being Brett Kimbler.

The 8th grade team ended the season with a 18-4 record while the 7th grade Lakers were 18-2 overall.

Congrats to both teams for phenomenal seasons both on the field and in the classroom.
