In June 17 IssueIf the present situation with the ambulance board is any indication, it probably would be a very positive move to review all county boards, commission members, trustee appointments, and their timely appointments.
The apparent lack of proper appointments to the ambulance board would leave anyone wondering if all other appointments have been conducted in a timely manner.
These board appointments are extremely important and should be maintained in a precise manner.
We noted in a news report last week where a questionable board member asked who held the responsibility to keep-up with the appointments.
In our opinion there is little question to this as the County Judge Executive either makes the appointments or recommendations to the fiscal court and it surely would be his duty to make sure these board appointments are maintained in a legal and timely manner.
A few years ago the county lost a law suit due to the fact timely and proper appointments had not been made to the airport board. At that time the court ordered the board dissolved and all new board appointments made.
We would urge the fiscal court to review all county boards and make sure all appointments have been made in a timely manner and all boards are comprised as they should be, appointments made properly, and maintained in a timely sequence.
