DeHart, Barnes file in Russell Springs

In July 1 Issue

Mayor Hollis DeHart has filed the necessary papers in the county clerk's office and is now officially seeking re-election as Russell Springs Mayor.

All six members of the Russell Springs City Council signed DeHart's nomination papers.

The only current council member that has filed for re-election at this point is Ricky Barnes.

The filing deadline for the November general election for city mayor, council members and also school board races is August 10th at 4:00 p.m.

County Clerk Lisha Popplewell said candidates should have their completed nominating petitions in her office by 4 p.m. on August 10th. Popplewell said nominating petitions can be acquired in the clerk's office Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. til 4 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. til 11 a.m. Should potential candidates have any questions, call the county clerk's office at 343-2125.
