In Aug. 12 IssueBy Greg WellsTimes Journal Managing EditorA civil lawsuit was filed last week in Russell Circuit Court against the Ambulance service, its board, the "E911" Center, the county judge and county attorney.
The suit was filed by James S. Faller II and Amy Mischler.
It alleges that a contract with a collection agency for past due bills was improper, that an individual was "unlawfully coached" in order to obtain a job at the 911 center and that the interlocal agreement which moved the dispatch center under the auspices of the ambulance service did not comply with the law for such agreements.
In the suit, they ask for an investigation into the finances of the two agencies, and punitive actions against an employee who was not named as a defendant in the suit.
The members of the board, as well as the other named parties in the suit indicated repeatedly this week that they had not been served and would not deal with the suit and its allegations until they were.
