Russell Countians need look no further than The Treasure Nook to shop JC Penny. Last Tuesday, the store held a grand opening for their new JC Penny catalog center.

"The Russell County Chamber of Commerce is so excited to announce the opening of the JC Penny catalog center at the Treasure Nook," said Joy Fletcher, Russell County Chamber of Commerce vice president. "We want to congratulate them on their new expansion and invite everyone in Russell County to come out and shop this growing business."

Sisters Karen Hopper and Kathie Conn started The Treasure Nook nearly 11 years ago in Russell Springs. The store has always offered florals, home decor, and gift items.

Now, they offer the convenience of local access to JC Penny order placement, order pick-up, returns/exchanges, gift cards, credit payments, and of course catalogs.

"We supply free JC Penny catalogs for folks who don't use computers," said Conn. "If there are any special offers such as free shipping, we'll let you know about them and even place orders for you."

She said customers who order from JC Penny and have their packages shipped to The Treasure Nook will save on shipping costs.

"We have to change with the community's needs," said Conn. "With rising gas prices and other expenses, everyone is looking to save money. Our goal is to be of service to our community."

The Treasure Nook, located at 212 Steve Dr. in Russell Springs just off US 127, is open Monday - Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
