Laker band opens season

In Aug. 26 Issue

The Russell County High School Mighty Laker Marching Band will open their marching band season this Saturday as they participate in the Mark Twain Pre-Season Exhibition presented at the Adair County High School in Columbia.

The program will get underway at 4:30 p.m. with the Laker Band performing at 6:15 p.m.

The program is an exhibition appearance and is not a competitive event.

Other bands appearing include: Cumberland County, Green County, Corbin, Taylor County, Larue County, Boyle County, Williamstown, Anderson County, Marion County, Nelson County, Barren County, and the Adair County Band, who is the host band.

Regular competition will begin September 18th with the contest to be determined.

The band will also make appearances at the Russell County High School Laker football home games.

The Laker Band competes in division AAA, the show title is "unVEILed" and is under the direction of Curtis Ervin.
