RCHS volleyball downs Lady Cardinals

In Sept. 2 Issue

Coach Sarah Roy’s Russell County High School Lady Laker volleyball team snagged another victory Tuesday evening, this time from rival Wayne County with a score of 25-8 and 25-11.

A healthy crowd of RCHS supporters filled the gymnasium at RCHS for last night’s win and weren't disappointed with the hard-nosed play.

Following last week’s varsity victory at Monticello, the Lady Laker varsity volleyball team is 4-2 on the season.

The RCHS junior varsity also defeated Wayne County 21-15 and 21-12 while the Lady Laker freshmen fell to the Lady Cards 7-15 and 9-15.

Russell County will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to McCreary Central to take on the Lady Raiders after school.

Best of luck to Coach Roy, her staff and the Lady Lakers.
