In Sept. 4 IssueRussell County NewsHere we are at the beginning of September already and the Cruise in season is slowly coming to an end.
It's been a good year for the Car Shows and Cruise Ins in spite of the heat this summer. The true car lovers were out in force for the events.
Here are a couple of Shows you might want to mark on your calendar that are coming up real soon.
On Saturday September 11th the West 80 Church of God is having a Car and Tractor show at the Russell County Fairgrounds. In the car show division there are Top 10 trophies that will be awarded.
The prizes will be awarded by "peoples choice". Registration will get started at 10am with trophies to be awarded at 1 p.m.
The Tractor part of the show will take place right along with the car show with trophies for each class. Trophies will be given for 1st place in Restored Class and urestored.
Along with the car and tractor show that day the church will have other activities going on also.
They will have a Corn Hole Tournament, Dog Show, Carnival games for the kids, Horse and mule pull, wagon rides and races, Sack races, three legged races along with Bingo the Clown for the kids. Also there will be a lot of great food. So come out for a day of fun with the family.

Another show that is one of my personal favorites will be coming up October 2nd 2010 is the 18th Annual Revin and Ravin Car show and swap meet.
This is put on by Another Level Club out of Russell County.
This show is held Highway 80 Auto Auction on Highway 127 behind the Marathon 127 One Stop.
There will be the top 50 Trophies given out along with 24 specialty trophies along with the three top motorcycle awards. Registration will get underway 9:00 am and run till Noon, registration fee to enter your vehicle is $15.00 the day of the show.
This is an indoor and out door car show that will go on rain or shine.
Trophies will be given away for the Best Paint, Interior, and Engine.
Best Mini Truck Import and Best Mini Truck Domestic. Best sport compact, best sports car, Best Mustang (ladies choice). Best Full Size 87 Down and Best Full Size 88 Up. Best 4 X 4 and best unfinished.
Best Mopar, Best Chevy, Ford, Corvette, Muscle Car, Engine, Paint, Interior, Street Rod, Car audio plus the Ladies Choice and Club Participation award.

This is a great show that you won't want to miss.
Sonic is having their annual car show on Saturday Sept. 4th at the Sonic in Russell Springs.
This usually turns out to be a pretty good show also, one that you will want to attend.
