In Sept. 23 IssueThe past couple of weekends have been notable ones on Lake Cumberland, yet we have seen very little support from those receiving a lot of the benefits.
A friend of ours tells that every now and then we need to walk through our home or office and look for coffee stains as he calls them. These are things that are not very pretty or useful yet we have become so use to seeing them, we just don’t even notice anymore.
Activities on and around Lake Cumberland may now appear as one of our coffee stains.
This past weekend was the annual Lake Cumberland Clean-Up.
We apparently was in one of our own coffee stains modes as personally we did very little to assist. Yet we depend a great deal on Lake Cumberland, our contribution didn’t reflect just how much. We made a monetary contribution but we certainly could have done more.
The same with the recent Poker Run held a couple of weeks ago.
A great event, in fact it was reported some 30,000 people attended the event, and again, so many people receiving the benefits were absent from those in support.
We fully understand the economic picture has hampered contributions but an hour or two of personal assistance is within the means of all of us.
It is so easy for all of us to forget just what impact Lake Cumberland has on this community.
