In Nov. 18 IssueThe Times Journal has purchased The Russell Register and will combine the two newspapers into a twice weekly operation. The Russell Register will undergo a name change, schedule and purpose. Joining with The Times Journal the new, Russell County News-Register, will then be a part of the twice weekly schedule, bringing current news coverage to all our subscribers.
All subscribers of The Russell Register will be transferred to the list of subscribers from The Times Journal to form the master mailing list for this new twice a week publication schedule.
The two newspapers will be served by one mailing list.
If you were a Russell Register subscriber, and not a Times Journal subscriber, and still have months left on your subscription, your subscription will be transferred in full to this master list, the same amount of time left on your subscription will also be transferred and you will receive the Thursday and Saturday publications.
In other words, if your subscription to The Russell Register ends in May of 2011, you will begin receiving both of the newspapers at no addition charge until May of 2011.
If you have a subscription to both, the one with the greatest amount of time will be honored and these months added to your subscription on the master list. If you are presently a subscriber to The Times Journal, you do not have to do anything, you will automatically begin receiving the News- Register once the new schedule is implemented.
It is hoped this new schedule can be underway in two or three weeks.
Until that time, you will still receive The Times Journal and The Russell Register as present, news stands on Wednesday and mail delivery on Thursday.
