Laker Swim Team wins on the road

In Jan. 13 Issue

The Laker Swim Team was victorious last week as they traveled to Barbourville, Ky.

The Lakers took first place over Knox County, Barbourville High School and Rockcastle County. The Lakers continue to improve skills and time as they continue through the season in preparation for Region 3 competition in Febuary. Everyone is encouraged to attend the Lakers next home meet on January 18 when they will honor the Senior members of the Laker Swim Team.

Laker Swim Team Takes 3rd Place at Winter Invitational Meet

The weather was frightful but the Laker Swim Team placing 3rd over 14 teams at the Winter Invitational Meet was delightful. The team saw great improvement from several indivual swimmers and relays. Swimmers placing in the top 12 were:

Girls Medley Relay 6th- Haven Railsback, Ciara Kimes, Becca Haynes, Taylor Grider

Boys Medley Relay 10th- Robbi Darnell, Alex Marson, Dylan Coffey, Christian Marson

Girls 200 Free- 11th Jessica Jones, 12th Ciara Kimes

Boys 200 Free- 4th Cody Nolen

Girls IM- 4th Becca Haynes

Boys IM- 3rd Robbi Darnell

Girls 50 Free- 9th Rachael Haynes, 10th Jessica Jones, 12th Taylor grider

Boys 50 Free- 3rd Dakota Meece, 5th Dustin Ballenger

Girls 100 Fly- 3rd Becca Haynes, 4th Jordan Loy

Boys 100 Fly-4th Matt Ryan

Boys 100 Free- 8th Cody Nolen, 10th Dustin ballenger

Girls 500 Free- 11th Jordan Loy

Boys 500 Free- 6th Matt Ryan, 8th Dylan Coffey

Girls 200 Free Relay- 5th Rachel Haynes, Jordan Loy, Becca haynes, Jessica Jones

Boys 200 Free Relay- 3rd Dakota Meece, Matt Ryan, Cody Nolen, Dustin ballenger

Girls 100 Back- 9th Rachel Haynes

Boys 100 Back- 5th Dakota Meece, 10th Robbi Darnell

Girls 100 Breast- 8th Taylor grider, 11th Ciara Kimes

Girls 400 Free Relay- 6th Rachel Haynes, Jordan Loy, Ciara Kimes, Jessica Jones

Mens 400 Free Relay- 2nd Dakota Meece, Cody Nolen, Matt Ryan, Dustin Ballenger

Lexington Christian placed 1st with a score of 408, Fort Knox 2nd with a score of 266 and Russell County 3rd with 234. The Lakers next meet will be January 18 at home and its senior night at the RC Natatorium.
