In Jan. 20 Issue
A few weeks ago we made the transition with both newspapers, The Times Journal, The Russell Register and the Weekender.
Everyone was aware of the visible change that combined the Saturday publication with the Russell Register and created the News-Register.
What most of you were not aware of, during this transition we changed printing plants and this created another range of issues we were not expecting.
We have had severe problems with labeling the newspapers and with bundling them and getting them to the post office. They are physically printed and labeled in Danville and the plant there has experienced some unexpected problems.
The main problem appears to be within the delivery of the Saturday News-Register and the Register Plus. Address labeling has been a major problem.
We want to ask all of you to bear with us and the issue will he settled. In fact, we hope the issue is settled and there will be no other problems.
The last couple of weeks have been a disaster at the Jamestown and Russell Springs Post Offices. Not a disaster on their behalf but a disaster created by us and this labeling process.
The local post offices, the carriers and all others have gone far beyond their duty in seeing the papers were delivered in the best way possible.
We want to thank everyone within our local postal system for making the best out of a situation that was not their fault. It would have been much worse if not for their assistance and dedication in doing the best job possible.
If you do experience a problem with getting your newspapers or the plus section, please let us know and we will try and correct it.
Again, bear with us as we have several new features scheduled for both newspapers and we believe you will enjoy.
We thank all of you for being patient and we especially thank everyone at our post offices in Jamestown and Russell Springs.
