In Jan. 20 IssueThe Russell Springs man who was allegedly robbed at gunpoint back in December is now facing charges of trafficking and possessing illegal drugs, according to police reports from the Russell Springs Police Department.
Jesse McEndree, 23, was arrested around 1:30 p.m. Friday by Asst. Police Chief Jamie Rogers on warrants charging him with trafficking in marijuana and second degree possession of a controlled substance.
McEndree was allegedly assaulted and robbed by two Bowling Green men at a residence on Jewell Street on Dec 8. At the time, investigators said the alleged robbery was drug-related in nature.
These new charges filed against McEndree are in connection with the Dec. 8 incident, police said.
McEndree was lodged in the Casey County Jail.
Then, a two vehicle wreck Thursday morning in Russell Springs ended in an arrest on meth related charges, according to local police.
James Mondie, 40, of Dunnville was driving a 1998 Pontiac car westbound on Ky. 80 when his vehicle crossed the center line and side-swiped a tractor-trailer.
Neither driver was injured during the mishap, but Mondie was arrested at the scene after he allegedly tried to hide several chemical precursors used to cook meth.
Police said Mondie is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and tampering with physical evidence.
He was also lodged in the Casey County Jail.
