In Jan. 27 IssueA total of 13 people were indicted last week by the Russell County Grand Jury on charges ranging from manufacturing methamphetamine and burglary to rape, according to circuit court records. One of the indictments was sealed and another item was taken up by the Grand Jury, resulting in a "no true bill."
The following people were charged last Wednesday by the grand jury:
• Stephen W. Williams, 53, was charged with first degree burglary.
• Danny Hill, 46, was charged with first degree burglary.
• Dustin W. Cochran, 25, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and being a persistent felony offender.
• Ryan D. Roy, 30, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, first degree trafficking in a controlled substance and being a persistent felony offender.
• Michael J. Holt, 28, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.
• James C. Mondie, 40, was charged with first degree possession of a controlled substance.
• Joel K. Luttrell, 37, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, first degree wanton endangerment, third degree assault and resisting arrest.
• Donnie Stephens, 47, was charged with firs degree rape and incest.
• Tyler Baker, 20, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
• Gregory J. Stapleton, 41, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and fourth degree controlled substance endangerment to a child.
• Bethany L. Buis, 20, was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and fourth degree controlled substance endangerment to a child.
• Nathan A. Rhymer, 34, was charged with flagrant non-support of a child.
• Torry S. Ryder, 42, was charged with first degree possession of a controlled substance.
An indictment by a grand jury does not imply guilt but simply means that a jury felt there was enough evidence in a case to warrant a trial.
