In Feb. 3 IssueWe were very excited this week when we learned Russell County High School has distinguished itself as one of Kentucky’s most consistent top scoring high schools with the on-demand state writing assessment.
In fact, Russell County was selected one of the four top schools in the state and may be selected as a possible model with strategies for other schools to emulate.
This honor really sets Russell County apart to say it may become a model for others.
This really excites us when it is considered we are living in an era when writing is rapidly becoming a lost art within our society.
Texting and e-mail are rapidly changing our daily writing and spelling skills. We hold real concerns these shortcuts in writing and spelling will soon mold the future of our children and the our entire society.
We compliment our school system and our teachers and administrators for their outstanding efforts in bringing this honor to our county.
We certainly congratulate our students for their concern, efforts and skills.
Again, congratulations to everyone involved as it is quite an honor to be set aside as a model for others to study.
