In March 31 IssueCoach David Rexroat’s Russell County Laker baseball team continued to win on the road this past week.
The team picked up 4-3 win over Warren East on Monday afternoon in Bowling Green.
Hunter Best drove Blake Aaron home late in the game to give the Lakers the close victory.
Coach Stephanie McGowan’s Lady Laker softball squad defeated Campbellsville on the road Friday evening as they won 11-7 before coming homeMonday and falling to a tough Somerset squad.
The Lady Lakers now stand at 1-3 on the season while the Lakers are 3-0.
The baseball team will head to Florida over spring break to play in the Beach Bash.
The team is excited to be playing in the Ft. Walton Beach Bash for the second year.
Last year was a successful trip for the Lakers, playing against top notch teams from the state of Kentucky and Florida, the varsity posted a record of 4-1 and the JV 4-0.
The Lady Lakers will be at home Thursday to face Barren County at 6 p.m. before traveling to Taylor County on Friday.
