On Monday, May 9, 2011, at Lake Cumberland Jr. High Inu., the Russell County Track Team competed against 8 teams with the boys and 7 teams with the girls, overall placing 2nd.

The teams competing in the boys competition were, Pulaski County, Berea Community, Williamsburg, Clay County, Somerset Middle, South Laurel, Casey County Middle, and Corbin. While the teams that competed in the girls included all of those except Pulaski County.

Starting off with the boys, Blake Ellis wins 1st in the 100 M Intermediate Hurdles, as well as the 300 M Low Hurdles, while Evan Fletcher also wins 1st in the 100 M dash. In the 800 M Relay, Jordan Sinclair, Patrick Hughes, Bryce Anderson, and Elisha Loy pick up 4th place, and Wyatt Ryan comes in 7th for the 1600 M Run.

The 3200 M Relay was run by the team of Patrick Hughes, Elisha Loy, Trevor Robertson, and Wyatt Ryan, who took home 4th place. And bringing in 2nd in the 1600 M Relay, is Blake Ellis, Trevor Robertson, Evan Fletcher, and Jacob Grimes.

In the 400 M Relay, Evan Fletcher, Blake Ellis, Trevor Robertson, and Jacob Grimes, take 1st place. And in the 200 M Dash, Evan Fletcher places 1st, while Bryce Anderson places 7th. Running in at 2nd for the 800 M Run is Trevor Robertson. And placing 1st in the Shot Put and Discus, is Matt Adams.

Now on to the girl's team with Bailey Phillips placing 1st and Bailey Bean placing 2nd in the 100 M Intermediate Hurdles. And then switching positions on the 300 M Low Hurdles, with Bailey Bean coming in 1st and Bailey Phillips coming in 2nd. And in the 100 M Dash, Madison Loy and Izzy Bean place 1st and 7th respectively.

In the 800 M Relay, the team of Emily York, Madison Loy, Bailey Phillips, and Danielle Walters place 1st, while in the 400 M Dash, Gabby Grabaugh places 6th and Gabby Bean places 7th.

Picking up 7th place in the 1600 M Run is Sarah Bryan, and the team of Maddie Blankenship, Danielle Walters, Emily York, and Gabby Bean, place 2nd in the 3200 M Relay, then switching out Danielle and Maddie for Madison Loy and Bailey Phillips, they take 1st in the 1600 M Relay.

While in the 400 M Relay, the team of Gabby Bean, Gabby Grabaugh, Amelia Ackerman, and Cara Marcum take 5th place. And Amelia Ackerman takes 6th while Izzy Bean takes 7th in the 200 M Dash.

In the 800 M Run, Taylor Stephens picks up 8th, while Hannah Tucker brings home 6th in the Shot Put and 5th in the Discus. And finally, Selena Padilla takes home 2nd in the High Jump. Congratulations to all who competed.
